Eid ul-Adha is commonly known as Bakrid. The festival of Eid ul-Adha holds great importance in Islam. Bakrid is one of the holiest festivals of Islam. After sacrificing the goat, it is divided into three parts on the day of Eid. One part of which is distributed among the poor. The second part is kept for relatives and the third part is kept for one’s own home. This festival is celebrated in memory of the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim’s son and marks the end of the Haj pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca. Bakrid is not only a festival of sacrifice, but it is a symbol of renunciation, sacrifice, and devotion to Allah.
