This beautiful festival of Vishu is celebrated in the state of Kerala. According to mythology, it is believed that on this day Lord Shri Krishna killed the demon Narakasura. He put an end to evil. Therefore, Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna are worshipped on this day. The main feature of this day is Vishukkani. Vishukkani means darshan of tableau. Tableau darshan is done in the morning.

It is also believed that paddy sowing starts from the day of Vishu festival in Kerala. Along with Kerala, it is also considered the beginning of the new year in Malayalam. Therefore, it is also a happy occasion for the farmers, in which they thank God for their previous harvest and wish for a good yield of their next crop.
